Policy on the use of mobile phones / cameras / devices

In line with our Child Safeguarding risk management the Burren OETC has restrictions in the use of mobile phones / cameras and other devices

Day Groups.

We recommend that all phones are left at home. However, if phones are brought to the centre, these should be collected on arrival by the group leader. These will be kept in the office until the group departs. Phones are not allowed in the changing rooms or in the dorms.

IF a phone is needed for parental contact, the phone can be given out for an agreed time.

Residential Groups.

While we recommend that phones are left at home, we understand that parents/ guardians would to contact their children while away on a residential programme. Phones will be collected on arrival by centre staff/ group leaders and kept in the staff office. Phones will be given back to students at a set time for an agreed length of time. All phones are handed back before bed time. Phones are not allowed in the changing rooms or the dorms.
